Lunch at Papachinos (Crowthorn)
February 10th, 2008
We got a new floor in our room today !
Mommy & Daddy had to move all the furniture out of the room this morning and then we helped them move the stuff back after the wooden floors were installed.
We had lots of fun ! And the floor looks awesome !
We’ve been a bit quiet on this front
Last week was a bit hectic with the twins - Jade started with a fever on Saturday (40 C) and Sunday morning she seemed to recover - well at least for the day.
Sunday evening Skye & Jade were running fevers in excess of 40C !
Monday they went to the doctor and she only said that this was a viral infection and we had to try and keep the fever down (nothing else we could do).
Wednesday the kids were still running fevers and we took them back to the doctor - this time round it moved into a bacteria infection (Skye - Throat infection and Jade - Sinus infection
) They both got anti-biotics.
Everything seemed sorted … until Skye showed a reaction to the anti-biotics. He got a rash and had a fever again
After checking the web to find the symptoms of any reaction to Zinnat (the anti-biotic), we found that fever and a rash was a reaction to Zinnat.
So we stopped giving Skye the Zinnat and he looks much better.
We now know he may be more prone to allergic reactions as he had a similar rash the previous round of anti-biotics.
Well, the twins picked up Roseola
Things started going wrong on Saturday afternoon when the kids started to act a bit grumpy. They also started running fevers.
Saturday night the kids slept with us in our bed, as they were not feeling too well.
Sunday the kids had fever most of the time and it only dropped after giving them some meds.
Took them to the doctor today - Skye had a distinct rash and Jade started showing signs of a rash.
Skye ran a fever again this evening - 40 C !!!! The highest ever.
Fortunately it’s down now - I just check him (21:45) and his fever was gone - temp down to 36.4C
Phew !
We went to the Johannesburg Zoo this afternoon. Very nice day to go to the zoo.
We had a small picnic with some friends (Jacques, Yassar, Vivian) and their kids.
The twins were on best behaviour
All in all a very nice day.
Since coming on holiday we’ve been giving the twins some new food experiences - this might also have added to the constipation issue (as noted previously).
Jade & Skye seem to like chips (french fries) a lot, as well as toasted bread
When we go to a place for lunch, etc. we have to make sure we order chips with our food as the twins just LOVE to munch on chips
We’re trying to keep their intake at a minimum, but when they want some food they make SURE you understand
We love them LOTS !
